Adeline Elizabeth Koenck was born December 14, 1921, the daughter of Herman and Rosa Haase. She passed away Monday, November 16, 2015, at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison, Iowa, at the age of ninety-three.
Adeline was born on a farm near Denison, Iowa, where she lived with her family. She received her education in a rural school near her home.
On March 7, 1948, Adeline was united in marriage to Floyd Koenck. The couple was blessed with the birth of six children. Adeline was well known as being a waitress and bartender for 27 years at Jo-Mart Steakhouse in Denison. She also enjoyed helping her daughter at Picadilly’s Pizza in Schleswig.
Adeline was a loving mother and grandmother whose sassy personality will be greatly missed. Her personable nature lead her to be drawn to spending time with others and socializing. She especially enjoyed social hour with Leona Hollrah. She also enjoyed playing bingo at the nursing home. Over the years, Adeline traveled to many places around the world including Germany, Panama and Hawaii. In her spare time Adeline enjoyed watching the Lawrence Welk Show and ice skating on T.V.
Adeline was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Herman, Jr; two sisters: Eleanora and Elvira. Survivors include: her children: Jack; Pat and her husband, Lee; Pam; Bonnie and her husband, Steve; Barb and her husband, Justin; James Sr. and his wife, Jean; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Helen; many other relatives and friends.
