Allan Brotherson

November 14, 1940 — May 5, 2011

Allan Ray Brotherson was born November 14, 1940, the son of Ray and Clara Dierenfeld Brotherson. He passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2011, at the Loring Hospital in Sac City, Iowa, at the age of seventy.
He was born in Carroll, Iowa, and baptized in Christ on February 2, 1941, at Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake, Iowa, by Rev. Herbert Berner, and also confirmed there on April 3, 1955, by Pastor O.E. Weiss.
He attended country school in Jackson Township until eighth grade and graduated from Wall Lake High School with the class of 1959. Allan was united in marriage to Patricia Kropf on April 24, 1965, at Peace Lutheran Church and to this union three children were born. The couple raised their family on their dairy farm south of Wall Lake, where they worked side-by-side in all aspects of the dairy operation, field work, and daily chores. After retiring, Allan still enjoyed making hay in the summer and feeding a few cattle, plus making sure there was always a horse for the grandchildren to ride.
He was a lifelong, faithful member of Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake, where he served as an usher. He also served on the Dairy board of AMPI. He enjoyed his leisure time by walking his granddaughter, Rosy, and visiting their many friends and neighbors. Allan and Patti were blessed to have the opportunity to do some traveling with their grandchildren.
Allan was preceded in death by his father Ray in 2005; his father-in-law, Ed in 1994; and one niece, Allison in 1994. He is survived by his wife, Patti; two sons: Dan and his wife, Faith; and Chris and his wife, Holly; one daughter, Andreaand her husband, Don; nine grandchildren: Sena, Sierra, Shianne, Savannah, Ty, Cauy, Hope, Grant, and JacI; his mother, Clara; two sisters: Carol and her husband, Darrell; and Lorene and her husband, Leroy; his mother-in-law, LaMorn; other relatives and friends.
