Allen P. Lingle

Allen Patrick Lingle was born in Denison, Iowa on January 30, 1939, the son of Francis and Frieda Mesenbrink Lingle. He died Saturday, May 28, 2016, under the Hospice Care of Eventide in Denison, Iowa, at the age of seventy-seven. He had been battling with Alzheimers for several years.
Allen received his education in the Denison Community Schools and graduated from the Denison Community High School with the class of 1957. He then enlisted in the US Air Force where he served until 1961 when he was Honorably Discharged. He returned to Denison and worked at IBP. He was united in marriage to Marita Christiansen on September 9,1961. The couple was blessed with the birth of four children. He also drove trucks for Mau and Hewitt Trucking Company, a job he enjoyed very much as he loved traveling and seeing every state in the United States.
In his leisure time, Allen enjoyed camping, fishing and golfing. Spending time with his family was a special pleasure as he made great memories with them on trips to the Hawaiian Islands and Puerto Vallarta in Mexico. The family also made many memories of trips they took in the camper.
Allen was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jeff; twin brother, Alfred; sisters, Pat and Francis Marie; and a half-sister, Laura. Survivors include his wife, Marita; one son, Bryan; two daughters, Jodi and her husband, Chad; and Pennie; seven grandchildren: Haylee, Riley, Lily, Bryson, Alec, Cade and Casey; many other relatives and friends who will all miss him deeply.
