Anna M. Teut

Anna Margaret Clausen Teut was born December 19, 1919, to Andrew and Catherine Clausen and was the youngest of seven children. She died on Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison, Iowa, at the age of ninety-seven.
She received her childhood education in a Morgan Township School near Schleswig, Iowa. Her baptism and later confirmation of her Christian faith were in the Friedens Evangelical Church in Schleswig, Iowa.
On August 17, 1941, Anna was married to Lenhardt Teut by Pastor A.F. Rinne. To this couple, one daughter, Joyce, and one son, Lowell, were born. They began their married life on the family farm west of Schleswig. Her simplistic lifestyle continued as they moved to Schleswig in January 1967, where they were owners of the Standard Gas Station. Lenhardt passed away July 2004 and Anna remained in her home in Schleswig until May 2017, when she became a resident of Eventide.
After her marriage, Anna became a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid Society. Anna enjoyed reading poetry and recipe books. She will be remembered for the many cakes and pies she loved to bake for special occasions and serve with a cup of coffee to anyone who might drop in. Her family will miss the special futjens she made for the Christmas holidays and she didn’t like missing her card clubs!
Anna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lenhardt; great-granddaughter, Taylor; five brothers, Jurgen, Herbert and wife Sylvia, Andrew and wife Bernice, Leonard and wife Mildred, Paul and wife Irene; one sister, Frieda and husband, Edgar; sisters-in-law and their husbands, Lucille and George and Luverne and Raymond. Those left to cherish her memory are her children; Joyce and her husband, Wayne, and Lowell and his wife, Julie; thirteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
