Annie Kathryn Holleman Conger, 93, of Camerson, Missouri passed away Sunday, July 6th, 2014 at the Cameron Regional Medical Center in Cameron, Missouri. She had been a resident at the Missouri Veteran Home in Cameron since November of 2011. She moved to Missouri from Denison, Iowa where she and her husband, Herbert Conger had lived since their retirement from farming in Missouri in 1981. Annie was born March 4, 1921in McCrory, Arkansas to John G. And Eva P. Hipp Holleman. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, and four brothers. She is survived by her three sister Grace, Dorthy and her husband Edwin, and Bonnie and her husband Win.
Annie served in the United States Army as a chauffeur during World War II during which time she met and married her husband on December 22, 1944. He was also stationed in Memphis, Tennessee prior to serving time overseas. Together, they farmed all their married life–a life which Annie and Herbert loved. She also worked for Whitaker Cable in Brookfield, Missouri for over 14 years.
Annie enjoyed cooking, baking, and sewing and could be found making pickles and potholders for many years. Annie was famous for her award winning pecan pie! She loved to collect recipes and share them with her family and friends. Annie was delighted when she received several awards of appreciation while there at the Missouri Veterans Home.
