Arla Hansohn

Arla Ella Hansohn was born May 13, 1926, the daughter of Henry and Alvina Puck Ewoldt. She died Monday, December 28, 2009, at Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison, Iowa, at the age of eighty-three.
Arla was born on the family farm near Aspinwall, Iowa. She received her education at rural school Hayes Township No. 1 near her home. On May 4, 1947, she was united in marriage to Walter Hansohn at St. John Lutheran Church in Stockholm Township, Kiron, Iowa. The couple settled on the family farm and they were blessed with the birth of two sons.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Family and friends were very important to her. She enjoyed a variety of activities including sewing, quilting, baking bread and watching TV, but sewing and needlepoint were her favorite pastimes. She was involved in activities at her church. She and her husband enjoyed dancing, especially polka dancing.
Arla was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers: Albert and Ralph Ewoldt; and two sisters, LaVerne Kohnekamp and Edna Hester. Survivors include two sons, four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, many relatives and friends.
