Artha "Archie" Schmieder

Archie (Artha) Anne Schmieder was born on April 5, 1952, the daughter of Arthur and Evelyn Rice Vinnece. She passed away on February 9, 2012, at Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of fifty-nine.
Archie was born in Sioux City, Iowa. She was baptized in Christ on June 20, 1952, and later confirmed April 4, 1966, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Archie attended Fort Dodge Community Schools graduating with the class of 1970. She attended La James Beauty College of Cosmetology after graduation.
Archie met Anthony Schmieder while working at the bowling alley in Fort Dodge as a scorekeeper. She married her long time friend, Anthony on May 1, 1993, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Charter Oak, Iowa. They made their home in Charter Oak and operated the Pizza Ranch for a couple years. Archie obtained her CNA and worked at Denison Care Center from 1995-96; Pronto in Denison from 1998-99; MCI in Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, in 2005; and then Stream in Sergeant Bluff until she became disabled in 2008 due to health problems. Archie remained at home until being admitted to the hospital on September 22, 2011.
Archie enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren and spending time socializing with her family and friends. Other pastime activities that kept her busy were playing cards - especially Cribbage, playing Pogo on the computer, and following her favorite soap operas - Young and the Restless, General Hospital, and One Life to Live.
Archie was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Evelyn; and her father-in-law, Bernhard. Survivors include her husband, Anthony; one son, Daniel; two daughters, Jami and her husband, Eric; and Brandy; ten grandchildren; one great-grandson; mother-in-law, Ruth; three sisters: Iva Jeanne; Patsy and her husband, Dale; and Lovetta; one brother, Robert; other relatives and friends.
