Audrey A. Steffen

Audrey Ann Steffen was born October 26, 1925, the daughter of William and Florence Schwieso Boger. She passed away Saturday, May 23, 2020, at her home in Charter Oak, Iowa, at the age of ninety-four.
Audrey was born in Denison, Iowa, where she grew up and received her education at Country Hanover #7. She was united in marriage to Carroll (Kelly) Steffen on September 14, 1943, in Dakota City, Nebraska. They made their home in the Charter Oak area where they farmed and were blessed with three children. Audrey was a homemaker and later worked at Farmland Foods for nineteen years operating the ham injector machine on the process kitchen floor. She retired in 1985.
She was a devoted mother to her children and loving grandmother to her grandchildren. Activities she enjoyed include: paper route with Marcus, Jon and Emily, travels to Florida with her daughter and family, county fairs with her grandchildren Lindy and Cory, and getting Marcus, Jon and Emily ready for school everyday. In her leisure time, Audrey loved baking especially pies, doing embroidery, flowers and gardening and watching the Family Feud and Mollie B on RFD on television.
Audrey was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kelly Steffen; and one sister, Mildred Carstens and her husband, John. Survivors include: two sons, Russell Steffen and his wife, Michele of Dow City, Iowa, and Randy Steffen and his wife, Lisa of Charter Oak, Iowa; one daughter, Roxanne Steffensen and her husband, Neil of Thompson, Iowa; seven grandchildren: Lindy Cirks of West Bend, Iowa, Cory Steffen and his wife, Rachel of Dow City, Iowa; Zachariah Steffensen of Thompson, Iowa; Ryan Steffensen and his wife, Amanda of Guthrie Center, Iowa; Marcus Steffen and his fiancee, Anyssa of Manning, Iowa, Jonathon Steffen and Emily Steffen both of Charter Oak, Iowa; six great-grandchildren: Carson, Carter, Colt, Eva, Cora and Mila; one brother, Jerry Boger of Denison, Iowa; one sister-in-law, Delores Greene of Denison, Iowa; one brother-in-law, Charles Steffen and his wife, Joy of Cortez, Colorado; other relatives and friends.
