Barbara D. Lyman

March 11, 1945 — January 13, 2016

Barbara (Suze) Diane Bubke Lyman, of Chandler, Arizona, the daughter of Irvin and Wacille Bubke, passed away peacefully in her home, on January 13, 2016, from a long battle with cancer at the age of seventy.
Barbara was born in Battle Creek, Iowa on March 11, 1945. She graduated from Schleswig High School in 1963. After high school, she attended school to become a stewardess. Her aspirations then took her to Washington D.C. to work at the Navy Annex.
Barbara was an Iowa farm girl who married her high school sweetheart, Gailen Lyman, on July 25, 1964. They celebrated their 50th anniversary with all of their children and grandchildren present. They were married for a wonderful 51 years. Barbara worked for American Greetings for a number of years. She enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren grow up and loved spending time with family. Playing cards and singing “We Are Family” on Karaoke were just a few family activities Barbara loved to do. She loved watching the hummingbirds, which she referred to as her Angels, from her computer room window. Barbara also loved to visit the Oregon Coast with her high school love, Gailen. Everyone who knew Barbara would say that she was always smiling and those smiles were contagious. Family and her strong faith in God gave her the strength to defeat her long battle with cancer.
