Barbara M. Meseck

Barbara Mae Meseck was born September 26, 1960, at Denison, Iowa, the daughter of Burdell and Dorothy Friedrichsen. She passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2017, at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of fifty-six.
Barbara was baptized as a young child at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison, Iowa. After completing her education at Denison High School, she was united in marriage to Byron Meseck June 23, 1978, at Dakota City, Nebraska, with Rev. Walter Sweetman officiating. They made their home in Ricketts, Iowa, where she served as custodian for St. Luke’s Lutheran Church and Immanuel Lutheran Church, Soldier Township.
Barbara enjoyed flower gardening, babysitting, garage sales, 60's and 70's country music, soap operas, fishing, playing Euchre, and socializing with family and friends. She was a home body who enjoyed her children and especially her grandchildren, great-nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her father, Burdell; one stepson, Keith; mother-in-law, Erma and her husband Jay; brothers-in-law, Jerry and his wife, Jenell, and Bob; sister-in-law, Rhonda. Survivors include: her husband, Byron; two daughters, Stephanie and husband, Dave, and April; one son, Kevin; one stepdaughter, Jackie; her mother, Dorothy; one sister, Betty ; five brothers, Burton and wife, Nancy, Burnus, Byron and wife, Darla, Bruce and wife, Rebeca, and Bradley; two grandchildren; six step-grandchildren, seven step-great-grandchildren; and two brothers-in-law, Jim and David.
