Barry Ronald Kelm was born June 25, 1956, the son of Ron and Shirley Kelm. He passed away at his home in Kansas City, Kansas, on March 4, 2015.
Barry was born in Denison, Iowa. He was confirmed and baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Soldier Township, in Charter Oak, Iowa. He attended the Charter Oak Community School district and graduated with the class of 1974. Following graduation he enjoyed working at Camp Okoboji. He also worked at Builders Lumber, Berne Co-op in Ute, in construction and on a bridge crew near Des Moines, Iowa. While living in the Denison area, Barry was a very active member of the community and worked as zone president of the Walther League.
In the mid 1990's, Barry moved to Kansas City, Kansas where he began working for Bradco, Incorporated. He initially worked in the distribution of PVC pipes but later worked in the shipping and receiving department of the company.
Barry was a very loving son and uncle who enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews. Barry loved the outdoors especially hunting, fishing, camping and canoeing in the Ozarks. Barry also enjoyed photography, in particular flowers and Indians. He would attend local Indian gatherings and photograph their celebrations.
Barry was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; one nephew and one great niece. Survivors include his parents, Ron and Shirley; three brothers: Brent and his wife, Sue; Brandon; and Brian and his wife, Julie; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
