Betty A. Pope

Betty Ann Pope was born November 13, 1934, the daughter of Vernie and Lula Kropf Baker. She passed away at her home Wednesday, September 26, 2012, at the age of 77.
Betty was born in Kiron, Iowa, and was baptized and confirmed at St. Johns Lutheran Church, Stockholm Township, Kiron. She received her education in the Kiron Public School graduating with the class of 1953. After graduation Betty attended business school in Omaha, Nebraska. She worked at many area restaurants and operated her business until her retirement.
Betty enjoyed reading, working on puzzles and word searches, and socializing.
Betty was preceded in death by her father, Vernie; and two sons, Kevin and Keith Pope. She is survived by two daughters, Kathy Pope and friend, Don Diersen of Kiron; Kristy Munden and her husband, Jim of Grand Island, Nebraska; daughter-in-law, Shelly Pope and friend, Daryl Lamaak of Wall Lake, Iowa; seven Grandchildren: Derrick Boger of Norfolk, Nebraska; Jordan Poldberg and family of Tilden Nebraska; Jason Pope and family of Wall Lake, Iowa; Justin Pope and family of Sac City, Iowa; Jeremy Pope and friend Alicia of South Sioux City, Nebraska; Dustin Pope of Odebolt, Iowa; and Taylor Munden of Lincoln, Nebraska; four Great-grandchildren: Jillian Pope; Conner Poldberg; Zac Pope; and Jocelyn Pope; her mother, Lula Baker of Denison; one brother, Wayne Baker and his wife, Sharon of Kiron; and one sister, Marge Overhue and her husband, Alvin of Denison; other relatives and friends.
