Betty Mae Johnson

Betty Mae Johnson was born September 17, 1931 in Luther, the daughter of Joseph and Nancy (Steen) Smith. She graduated from Boone High School with the class of 1949.

Betty passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at the Denison Care Center, attaining the age of ninety-one years and one day. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Isaiah Johnson; former husband, Emil F. Segebart Sr.; son Emil "Rick" F. Segebart Jr.; son-in- law Curtis Bauer; brothers: John, Joe, Richard, and Charles Smith.

Left to cherish her memory are her three daughters: Kathleen Bauer of Denison, Julie and her husband Mark Sippel of Galva, and Angelia and her husband John Granzen of Denison; one son Eric Johnson of Denison; 26 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

A Funeral Liturgy will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Vail with burial to follow in Oakland Cemetery in Denison. Memorials may be directed to the family.
