Beverly Metta Winn

Beverly Metta Winn was born on March 22, 1934, the daughter of Wilbert Arnold and Metta Johanna Christina (Boysen) Carstens in Crawford County, Iowa. She received her education from a country school south of Denison, and graduated from Denison High School. Following high school, Beverly married an officer in the United States Air Force and was able to travel to many different places in the world, her favorite being Puerto Rico.

The couple had two sons, Scott and Sandor and Beverly loved being a mother. She was able to raise them by staying home and caring for the family. She loved collecting different nick-nacks.

Beverly passed away on January 26, 2023, at the Friendship Home in Audubon, Iowa at the age of 88 years, 10 months and four days.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; two sons: Scott Winn and Sandor Winn; and two brothers: Billy Carstens and Burnell Carstens. She is survived by two brothers, Neal Carstens and his wife, Charlotte of Dow City and Mark Carstens and his wife, Carol of Reno, Nevada; a granddaughter; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at the Huebner Funeral Home in Denison with interment to follow in the Morgan Cemetery near Schleswig.
