Bradley Dean Slater was born February 9, 1958, the son of Lawrence and Mary Slater. He died Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at the CHI Health Center in Missouri Valley, Iowa, at the age of fifty-eight.
Bradley was born in Denison, Iowa. He received his education in the Denison Community Schools with the class of 1976. Sports was an important part of his educational years that included baseball of which he excelled in. He was a member of the FFA and enjoyed a fishing trip to Canada with his classmates. After completing his education he worked at Jim’s Texaco for three years before moving to Omaha where he worked at the Nebraska Furniture Mart for a short time. He returned to Crawford County and worked for Various Construction companys building grain bins; IBP; Boyer Valley Industries. He also worked on the construction crew building the Walmart Store and subsequently worked inside the store for twelve years until his health started failing in 2009.
Bradley enjoyed fishing at several local ponds, but his favorites were Schwarte and Sheilds ponds. He also enjoyed hunting in the local area, refinishing furniture and decoupage , He also enjoyed camping, playing cards, socializing with family and friends, teaching his grandkids how to fish and play catch and his dog Bentley. In his leisure time, he loved watching Duck Dynasty, NCIS, Criminal Minds, music by AC-DC, Tom Petty and Guns and Roses and various other artists. He was best known for always making you laugh or smile when you needed it most, he was proud of his family and enjoyed spending time with them whenever he could.
Bradley was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence. Survivors include: his wife, Ann; one son, Michael and special friend, Tori; two daughters: Nakia and her husband, Brian and Amber and fianc, Travis; nine grandchildren; his mother, Mary; two brothers: Kenneth and Marty; two sisters: Cheryl and her husband, Roger and Sandy and her husband, Dennis: many nephews , nieces other relatives and friends.
