Carl J Miller

Carl John Miller was born June 12, 1917, the son of Carl Sr. and Minnie Bohlmann Miller. He passed away Friday, July 25, 2014 at the age of 97.
Carl was baptized into the Lutheran faith in July 1917 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hanover Township, Charter Oak, Iowa and he was confirmed at St. Paul on March 29, 1932. He attended a country school to which he often rode horseback. Carl was united in marriage to Viola Eggert on July 9, 1940 in Sioux City, Iowa and they were blessed with four children. They made their home on a farm near Denison, Iowa where Carl farmed and would go on to drive a school bus for 25 years. Carl graduated from Reisch Auctioneer College in Mason City, Iowa in August of 1969. He spoke German exclusively at home, enjoyed fishing at the cabin, and spending time with family.
Carl was preceded in death by his wife, Viola; his parents; one daughter, Paulette and her husband Michael; two sons-in-law, Ron; and Douglas; three sisters, Adelia; Hilda; and Edna; one brother, Harvey; and one brother-in-law, Art. Survivors include two daughters, Karen; Carlene; one son, Ronald and his wife Sharon; two granddaughters, Christine and Kimberly; five grandsons, Rick, Scott, Lonnie, Jasen, and Jeff; fourteen great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Adeline; Loretta; and Jeanie and her husband Marland; other relatives and friends.
