Chad Alan Struck was born September 30, 1970, in Denison, Iowa, the son of Ronald and Marlene Struck. He passed away Saturday, March 2, 2019, at his home in Minneapolis, Minnesota, at the age of forty-eight.
Chad grew up on the family farm near Schleswig and received his education in the Schleswig Community Schools. In 1986, his family moved to Denison and Chad graduated from Denison High School with the class of 1989. He was an accomplished saxophone player and performed on stage while in high school. He furthered his education at the University of Northern Iowa and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in 1993. Chad was first employed at AmeriCorps VISTA which required traveling and then began his career as a salesman in the insurance industry.
A lover of animals, he was particularly fond of his two dogs, Baylor and Bobbie Sox and his cat, George. He also loved to feed the wildlife in his yard, especially enjoying cardinals and blue jays. Religion also played an important part in his life and he possessed a strong faith. Chad loved cooking, running and exercising, flower gardening, relaxing while crocheting, fixing his furniture and getting old treasures. Traveling, which included going to Germany in 2002, attending concerts and socializing with his many friends brought him much enjoyment. Chad had a kind heart and was always willing to help people.
Chad was preceded in death by his grandparents and parents. Survivors include: two brothers, Brian and Kent; one sister, Brenda; nieces and nephew: Kayla, Dylan, Madison, Larissa, Kara and Emma; other relatives and friends.
