Chance Davis

Chance Benjamin Davis was born on September 6, 2000, the son of Shannon Husted in Oskaloosa, Iowa. He received his education from Denison High School and graduated with the class of 2019. In 2020, he moved to Florida with his family and in 2022, he relocated to Arion, Iowa to be closer to his cousin, Kyhan.

Throughout his life, Chance exemplified dedication and passion in all that he did. He found fulfillment in his work at Elevate Roofing, where he displayed commitment and skill. Chance enjoyed immersing himself in the world of video games and passionately supporting the Denver Broncos.

 One of Chance's most remarkable qualities was his ability to bring smiles to the faces of those around. Whether through a kind gesture or a simple conversation, he had a gift for uplifting others and making them feel valued. He had a heart of gold and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

 Above all else, Chance held his family dear to his heart, with a special bond shared with his mother. Their time together was filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments that will be treasured always. A true inspiration to children, Chance served as a remarkable role model. His positive influence and genuine care for young ones earned him their admiration and love. The way he interacted with kids reflected his inner warmth and generous spirit.

 Chance passed away suddenly due to a motor vehicle accident on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at the age of 23 years, seven months and 29 days. He was a ray of light in the lives of all who knew him, and his passing left a void that will be deeply felt.

 Chance was preceded in death by his uncle, William “Billy” Husted; great-uncle, Daniel Chapman and maternal great-grandparents, Raymond and Maxine Chapman. He is survived by his mother, Shannon Husted; siblings: Christian Husted, Hailey Husted, and Cambry Husted; grandmother: Tamara Chapman; aunts: Tonya (Ed) Burk, Clara (Jeff) Fisher and Kathandra Catu; cousin and best friend, Kyhan Davis and his children, Kolsen Davis and Daytona Davis; cousins: Brynnlee Catu and William Fisher; and many other relatives and friends.
