Charles Edward Ebelhare was born on February 1, 1944, to Edward and Dorothy (Loesges) Ebelhare in Bridgeport, Connecticut. He graduated high school in Dewitt, Connecticut with the class of 1962. Chuck then enlisted into the United States Army and continued to serve over twenty years of active duty until retirement. During his honorable service, he was a member of the color guard and received various medals of honor and a purple heart. He toured in Korea and Vietnam.
Chuck met Toni Blankenship in Phoenix, Arizona and spent the last thirty-one years of their life together. He was well-known for his love of fishing, Oreos and lack of patience. He cherished hunting in his younger years. He enjoyed plants and landscaping. Above all he loved all of his children and grandchildren.
Charles died at his home on April 13, 2021, at the age of 77 years, two months and 12 days.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Toni Ebelhare of Manilla, Iowa; children, Charles Edward Ebelhare II and wife, Marie and Brian Willard Ebelhare all of Leesburg, Virginia, Bethany Susan Darr of Phoenix, Arizona, Jeremy Michael Blankenship and wife, Tamara of Templeton, Iowa, Monica Teresa Ball, Laura Blaine Hammond and husband, Jacob all of Manilla, Lucas Siepker of Dunlap, Iowa, Samantha Lea Ebelhare of Manilla, and William Edward Ebelhare and fiancé, Shelby of Arcadia; 15 grandchildren; brother, John Ebelhare and wife, Ellen of Phoenix; and many other relatives and friends.
