Charles Lee Bryson was born January 30, 1943, at Hawarden, Iowa, the son of Loren and Laura Bryson. He passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017, at the Denison Care Center in Denison, Iowa, at the age of seventy-four.
Charles received his education at the Hawarden Public School and the West Sioux Public School from which he graduated with the Class of 1962. He continued his education at Sioux Empire Community College where he received an Associate of Arts degree in liberal arts in 1970. He was baptized and confirmed at the United Methodist Church and was currently a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Schleswig.
He served his country in the United States Air Force with the 2135 Command Squadron from June 29, 1962 until May 5, 1966. On August 11, 1967, Charles was united in marriage to Glenda Reyelts at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hull, Iowa, and they were blessed with the birth of four children. The family subsequently moved to Schleswig, Iowa, where Charles operated an electronics repair company.
Charles was a member of the Boy Scouts achieving the Eagle Scout award, Kiwanis, Community Betterment and Isaac Walton League. His hobbies included: flying, painting, reading, woodworking, photography and spending time with his family.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Loren and Laura; sister, Edith; and brother-in-law, Larry. Survivors include: his wife, Glenda; one son, Mike and his wife, Stephanie; three daughters: Deb and her husband, Kevin; Pat and her husband, Chris; and Stephanie and her husband, Eric; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, Doug and his wife, Christy; and his life long friend, Jim and his wife, Esther with whom they shared memories from childhood through their adult lives; other relatives and friends.
