Charles Welsey Ferguson

Charles Wesley Ferguson was born April 5, 1932, the son of Fred and Elsie Ferguson. He passed away Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison, Iowa.
Charles was born in Tyndall, South Dakota which is where he received his education, graduating from Tyndall High School with the class of 1951.
On June 15, 1958 he was united in marriage to Corene Schmoll. The couple made their home in Charter Oak and blessed with the birth of four daughters, Nancy ,Mary, Traci and Ann. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and would do anything he could for his family. For over 30 years, Charles worked for Arts Produce in Charter Oak. Charles was a life long member of the United Methodist Church, serving on the Administrative Board of the church for over 30 years. In 1981 he was named Charter Oak Fireman of the Year.
In his spare time, Charles loved fishing, hunting, playing cards and board games, and loved to tinker with just about anything, and was known to be the “ Jack of All Trades.” He loved helping others and doing volunteer work at the church, especially helping put the Christmas treat sacks together for the children at the church.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Dorothy , Eleanor and Betty; two brothers, Richard and John. Survivors include: his wife Corene; four daughters, Nancy and her husband Gary; Ann and her husband Alan; Mary and her husband Rick; and Traci and her husband Guy. Seven grandchildren; four great-grand-children. one sister,Suzie and her husband Alfred; one sister-in-law; Carol, many other relatives and friends.
