Christine Teut was born May 21, 1918, near Schleswig Iowa, one of twin daughters, to Hans and Marie Jensen Iversen. She passed away Saturday, June 14, 2014, at the Willow Dale Wellness Village in Battle Creek, Iowa, at the age of ninety-six. She was baptized and confirmed in the Friedins Church in Schleswig, Iowa. She received her formal education in Morgan No. 2 School. She married Arlo Teut on December 16, 1936 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Soldier Township. They farmed until 1968, and then went into custom fencing until 1982. They also had a lunch wagon which they took to farm sales. They moved to their home in Schleswig in 1971. Christine was a very active member of Immanuel Luther Church in Schleswig, she was a member of the Ladies Aid and served as visitor’s secretary, served on the Memorial Board, was a member of the church quilting circle, documented and counted money from the weekend offering and other volunteer work for the church. Christine was a member of the Crawford County Hospital Auxiliary, treasurer of the Schleswig V.F.W. Auxiliary for 28 years as well as the Senior Citizen Secretary. She enjoyed quilting, traveling, baking, dancing and playing cards.
Christine was preceded in death by her husband Arlo, who passed away November 11, 1988, her brother Frank Iversen, his wife Ethel, her brother Jeff Iversen, his wife Esther, twin sister Catherine Ipsen, her husband Werner, her brother Richard Iversen, his wife Avis, her brother Howard Iversen, one sister-in-law, Marilyn Iversen and one son-in-law Bernard Ridenour.
Survivors include her daughter Marion (Richard), daughter Shirley, son Peter (Elaine), son Alan (Marla) and daughter Linda (William), one brother Donald, one brother-in-law Gilbert, 4 sisters-in-law, Irene, Arlene, Marion, and Charlene. Fourteen grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
