Clarence "Wayne" Rood

Clarence “Wayne” Rood was born on August 23, 1939 to Clarence L. and Margaret (Spreng) Rood in Arion, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed at the Congressional Church of Arion. He graduated from Dow City – Arion High School with the class of 1957.

After graduation, he worked at IBP in Denison for over six years before he relocated to Van Nuys, California. He worked for a company called Arrow until his retirement in 1994. After the decline in his mother’s health, Wayne moved back to Arion to take care of her. Wayne enjoyed playing cards with his family during the holidays.

Wayne passed away Monday, November 30, 2020 at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital attaining the age of eighty-one years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Donna and Janice; younger brother, Alan.

He is survived by his brother, Lyle Rood and his wife, Barbara of Templeton, Iowa; uncles, Louie Lorenzen of Omaha, Nebraska and Walter Spreng of Hillsboro, Oregon; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Burial is in Dow City Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.
