Conner Joseph Scott, 70, of Ft. Collins, CO, formerly from Vail, Iowa passed away peacefully on July 14th, 2024 after a brief battle with cancer. 

Born July 23rd 1953 in Des Moines Iowa, Conner was the second of four children born to Kathryn (Begley) and the late Dr. Edward Michael Scott. Katie later remarried Don Farrell and relocated to Vail, Iowa in 1962. A 1971 graduate of Kuemper Catholic High school in Carroll Iowa. Conner enlisted in the United States Navy in 1974 where he served in the Naval Intelligence division at the Pentagon in Washington D. C. 

After his military service, Conner returned to Iowa where he would start his lifelong career as a master painter. He would go on to operate his own business as a professional painting contractor for over 40 years. He was respected for his high quality work, attention to detail and master craftsmanship. Conner was an avid reader and also an accomplished guitarist with a beautiful singing voice who loved to play and sing whenever he found the time. He was a parishioner at St. John 23rd Catholic Church. 

Preceding Conner in death are his parents, Katie Farrell and Ed Scott and his stepfather Don Farrell. Survivors include his siblings, Mike Scott (Gennifer) of Emmetsburg, Iowa, Rosemary Van Gorder (Jim) of Ft. Collins, CO, Brian Scott of Berkeley, CA, Pat Farrell of Omaha, NE, Fred Farrell (Kim) of Ft. Myers, FL and Peggy Staley (Allen) of Charter Oak, IA, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Also surviving Conner are his long time special friends Barbara, Tiana and Alexandra Noble of Ft. Collins, CO. 

Conner was a loving and giving soul, an incredibly hard worker and a master at his trade. He was taken too soon and will be missed greatly by his surviving family and friends. The family coordinated a graveside burial service with military honors that will take place at St. Ann’s Catholic Cemetery in Vail on Wednesday, August 7th at 10:00 a.m.
