Connie L. Wiegel

September 16, 1947 — August 18, 2015

Connie Lee Wiegel was born September 16, 1947, the daughter of DeLaine and Leoda Blunk. She passed away at her home in Charter Oak on August 18, 2015, at the age of sixty-seven.
After graduating from Denison High School in 1965, Connie worked at Klets Market and Denison Drug. On November 20, 1971 Connie was united in marriage to Gary Wiegel, and they enjoyed forty-three years together. The couple moved to Omaha where Connie worked at Walgreens before their return to Denison in 1973. Connie then went on to have several employment opportunities at Denison Drug, Charter Oak General Store, The Brown Cow Restaurant, Dairy Queen, and the Charter Oak Library. She also babysat for families in the area.
Connie enjoyed many hobbies and activities throughout the years. She collected salt and pepper shakers and Buddha statues, enjoyed reading, and watching game shows and sitcoms on the television. She also loved jewelry and make-up and worked for Avon many years. She enjoyed being around and talking with others whether it was talking on the phone, socializing at the annual Reis picnic, or playing cards. Connie enjoyed cruising and seeing new sights. She loved to laugh and be around family and friends.
Connie is preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband, Gary; two sisters: Vicki and her husband, Bill: Shari and her husband, Brad: mother-in-law, Frances; sister-in-law, Carol and her husband, Bruce; brother-in-law Kenneth Sr. and his wife, Diane; nieces and nephews; many other relatives and friends.
