Dale L. Schiltz

April 15, 1933 — April 22, 2015

Dale Louis Schiltz was born April 15, 1933, the son of Richard and Ruth Schiltz. He passed away April 22, 2015 at the Holy Spirit Retirement Home in Sioux City, Iowa, at the age of eighty-two.
Dale was born in Arion, Iowa and received his education in Denison Community Schools graduating with the class of 1951. In 1955, he was united in marriage to Irene Whited. The couple was blessed with birth of four children. They moved to California and lived there for two years before returning to Denison in 1966. In 2006, he was united in marriage to “Lisa” AnaElisa Hernandez.
Dale worked most of life working with automobiles. He has owned and operated a towing business and various service stations, where he was the technician. He was a proud member of AA, having just received his 44 year pin. Dale and Lisa loved to travel, and his favorite and most memorable was the Alaskan Cruise he and Lisa went on in 1999. Much of Dale’s spare time was occupied by watching the food and travel channels, listening to and dancing to the Big Band Era music, and following the Iowa Hawkeyes and St. Louis Cardinals. He also enjoyed going to the horse, dog, and harness races. Dale was a kind and generous man who loved to tell stories, and will always be remembered for his sense of humor, his gift of gab, and outgoing personality.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Irene. Survivors include his wife, Lisa; three sons: Michael; Dennis and his wife, Sandy; James and his wife, Robin; one daughter, Susan and her husband, Don; Lana and family; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grand children; three brothers: Bernie and wife, Doris; Gene and his wife, Judy; Gayle and his wife Janet; many other relatives and friends.
