Dale Merle Lilleholm, 56, of Denison, Iowa passed away unexpectedly in a farming accident on Sunday, November 5, 2017. Dale was born May 19, 1961 in Denison, Iowa to Donald and Betty Lilleholm. Being the only son and youngest to four older sisters, Dale was often referred by them as the “golden boy” and he liked to boss them around. He graduated from St. Rose of Lima Catholic School and Denison High School.
Dale was raised on his family farm in Denison, Iowa. In his youth, he was involved in 4-H and FFA. Dale was an avid hunter who enjoyed spending time with his friends, as well as coaching and cheering his children on in their activities. Dale most recently worked for NorAm Cold Storage/Pro-Vision Packaging of LeMars, Iowa. He recently settled back in Denison, answering his call to be closer to his family and farm, which he loved most in life. He was a hard-worker, dedicating endless hours balancing his time between work, family, and his farm. He will be remembered for his work ethic and being a mentor to so many.
Dale was a loving husband and proud father of 6 children. He is survived by his wife, Kimberly; and his 6 children: Derek and his wife Sarah; Ashley and her husband Mik; Chase; Dylan, Hunter and Remington. Dale was “Papa” to three grandchildren he loved dearly, Kyza, Whyitt and Cora. He is also survived by his sisters Donna and her husband Donavon; Diana and her husband Mark; Dorothy and her husband Lonny; and Delores and her husband Steve; brothers and sisters in law Kevin and Natalie and Justin and Heather; along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Dale Lilleholm Family where an Ag Scholarship will be set up in Dale’s honor. A special thank you from Dale’s family to all who have been so helpful and supportive at this tough time.
