Daniel (Boone) Malone

May 3, 1962 — March 20, 2014

Daniel “Boone” E. Malone was born May 3, 1962, the son of Norman and Martha Hunter Malone, in Denison, Iowa. He died at his home in Dow City, Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at the age of 51.
Boone as he was known to his family and friends received his education in the Dow City Community Schools. After completing his education, he worked for Ivan Malone on the farm. He later started his heavy equipment construction work, first bulldozing for Ivan then on his own. He later started his commercial construction company called Boone and Red Construction which involved building, remodeling, roofing and siding.
He was a kind and unselfish man, always willing to help others with their projects and needs without expecting anything in return. He did his work well and was good at everything he did. In his off time, he enjoyed tinkering in his shop, restoring his old Ford Tractor and keeping busy working on various projects. Leisure time could find him in his vegetable garden, canning, working on jigsaw puzzles, mushroom hunting or playing cards and visiting with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father. Survivors include his children: Corey Malone and his wife, Alison; Taylor Poston and special friend, Mike all of Dow City; Richie Malone and his wife, Amy; Ashley Reisinger and special friend, Travis, all of Charter Oak; and Danielle Malone of Dunlap; 6 grandchildren: Lexie Beam, Jadon Malone, Morgan and Emma Malone, Chevy and Arya Clark; his mother, Martha Higgins of Dow City; his brother, George Malone and his wife, Julie and his sister, Debbie Soll and her husband, Terry, all of Dow City; other relatives and friends.
