Daniel Marvin Woebke was born May 7, 1958, in Denison, Iowa, the son of Marvin and JoAnn Woebke. He passed away Friday, February 15, 2019, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of sixty.
Dan was baptized in Christ August 1, 1958, and confirmed his faith April 7, 1974, both at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison, Iowa. He received his education in the Denison Community Schools and was a graduate of Denison High School with the class of 1977. After high school, he was employed at Farmland in Denison and worked for Jim Beymer at Jim's Electric, bringing electrical service to homes and farms in the community. In the mid-1980's, Dan started his own business, Dan's Redemption Center and did that for twenty-three years. On June 2, 1990, Dan was united in marriage to Kris Mathies at the Denison Country Club. The couple were blessed with the birth of two children, RaShel and Dan Jr.
Dan served his community by being a member of the Denison Volunteer Fire Department for several years. An avid camper, Dan was a regular visitor at Yellowsmoke Park. He enjoyed slow pitch softball, fishing, bowling and NASCAR. Dan played football in high school and now enjoyed watching the sport, particularly games of the Kansas City Chiefs and Nebraska Huskers. He took great pride in his lawn until his health diminished. He then took great pleasure in socializing and sitting around the fire pit and grilling. When his health permitted, Dan had a passion for riding his Harley.
Preceding him in death were his parents. Survivors include: his wife, Kris; one daughter, RaShel and her husband, Morgan; one son, Daniel Jr. and his significant other, Tabitha; three grandchildren, Eva, Darren and Westley; one sister, Debra and her husband, Kerry; other relatives and friends.
