Darla Jean Neubauer was born August 20, 1954, the daughter of Wilbert and Julie Feddersen Prussing. She passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2011, at her home in Athens, Alabama, at the age of fifty-seven.
Darla was born in Denison, Iowa, and baptized in Christ on September 19, 1954, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Schleswig, Iowa. She was confirmed on April 7, 1968, at St. John Lutheran Church in Charter Oak, Iowa. She received her education in the Charter Oak Community Schools, graduating with the class of 1972. On April 7, 1973, she was united in marriage to Larry Neubauer at St. John Lutheran Church in Charter Oak. The couple was blessed with the birth of three children, Renae, Sheri, and Scott. Darla worked for various employers in the area including Farmland, Staleys Food Service, Eventide, Willow Dale Nursing Home, Tyson, and Wal-Mart.
Darla was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister. She loved her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and family. She enjoyed having coffee with friends, going to garage sales, and dancing.
Darla was preceded in death by her grandparents; her father, Wilbert Prussing; one nephew, Derek; and one great-niece, Arionna Harris Ray. Survivors include two daughters, Renae; and Sheri; one son, Scott and his wife, Yone; six grandchildren: Brittany, Devin, Christian, Scottie, Isaac, and Sydney; her mother, Julia Faye; two brothers, Roger and his wife, Linda; and Doug and his wife, Kelli; four sisters: Rhonda and her husband, Higinio; Cathy; Cheryl and her husband, Dennis; and Lana and her husband Harry; many aunts, uncles; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives; and friends.
