Deanna Campbell

Deanna Jeanne Campbell was born on December 25, 1953, the daughter of John Charles and Lorraine Emma (Schneller) Fineran in Denison, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith. In 1963, her parents purchased a farm south of Deloit, where they made their childhood home. After the untimely passing of her father in 1970, Deanna and her siblings worked tirelessly to keep their family farm thriving, which was a testament to her remarkable strength and dedication. Deanne graduated from Denison High School. 

Deanna was a hard worker, pouring her heart into every job she held. She began her career at her mother’s café, The Community Café in Denison. Over the years, she took on various roles in the community, eventually dedicating herself as a Residential Care Provider at WESCO until her well-earned retirement.

On September 14, 2001, Deanna married the love of her life, Leslie "Les" Campbell, in Dow City, Iowa. Together, they united their families into one, eventually making their home in Deloit. 

Deanna was an active and devoted member of Faith Lutheran Church in Deloit, where she joyfully participated in the ladies’ aid, ran the church kitchen, and supported BINGO in Deloit. 

Deanna cherished the simple joys of life—memorable trips to the casino with loved ones, the excitement of a getaway to stay in a hotel, and heartfelt cookouts with family. Her circle of friends was a source of immense joy and strength; she treasured their companionship deeply. Above all, Deanna’s greatest passion was bringing people together. Her warmth, compassion, and unwavering love created a bond that her family and friends will forever cherish.

Deanna passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at the Denison Care Center in Denison, Iowa, at the age of 71 years and 29 days. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Les Campbell; one great-grandchild; and brothers: Steven Fineran and Dennis Fineran. 

Deanna is survived by her three daughters: Tracie (Karen) Fineran of Denison, Heather Curnyn of Denison and Melissa Fineran of Boone; grandchildren and great-grandson; and many other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at the Deloit Cemetery near Deloit, Iowa. Her grandchildren, great-grandson, nieces and nephews will all serve as her honorary pallbearers. Memorials may be directed to the family.
