Delbert Rabe

Delbert A. Rabe was born October 2, 1946, the son of Alfred and Eleonora Meseck Rabe. He passed away Sunday, January 18, 2015, at the Denison Care Center at the age of sixty-eight.
Delbert was born in Battle Creek, Iowa. He attended the Schleswig Community School District and graduated with the class of 1964. He was baptized and confirmed into Christ at St. Paul, Hanover Township, in Charter Oak, Iowa. Delbert was a farmer at heart. His love of farming came from his parents, especially his father, with whom he farmed. As his health began to decline, Delbert decided to retire from farming in the mid ‘90's. After retirement he rented his farm land out to others.
Delbert was a very fun loving man who enjoyed the outdoors. Farming was at the fore front but he also enjoyed fishing. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing cards, bowling and watching movies, Westerns were his favorite. Delberts also liked to visit his good friend, Melvin Gustafson, at Johnson Motor Company. Delbert was a devout Christian who’s faith in his Savior was central in his life. He enjoyed going to all church functions including Walther League.
Delbert is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Joleen Eleanora. Survivors include: his sister, Lois; his brother, Milroy; many other relatives and friends.
