Dennis D. Pirwitz

August 3, 1959 — January 25, 2022

Dennis Darlo Pirwitz was born August 3, 1959 to Darlo and Marilyn (Groth) Pirwitz. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Charter Oak, Iowa. He attended St. John Lutheran School and Charter Oak - Ute Community School. He grew up on the family farm and loved farming with his father.

He married Guadalupe Vejar and had two children: Maritza and Rosina. They couple later divorced but together, they raised their two daughters.

Dennis was employed with Kragel Inc where he erected bins and he also worked for Denny Topf. He also started trucking for various trucking companies and was employed with Moeller Trucking for the past 25+ years.

In his spare time, he enjoyed mowing grass with his John Deere tractor. He was very passionate about anything John Deere. He was such a fun and loving man who enjoyed having conversations with his friends. He always had something to say about everything. Dennis cherished his family more than anything; it gave him great pleasure to play with his grandchildren.

Dennis passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at his home in Charter Oak, attaining the age of sixty-two years, five months and twenty-two days. He was preceded in death by his father, Darlo; grandparents and several aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his two daughters: Maritza (Ryan) Slaughter of Waterloo, Iowa and Rosina Pirwitz of Omaha, Nebraska; two grandsons: Hayden Bennett Slaughter and Kaison Christopher Slaughter; two step-sons: Oscar (Tocarra) Loya of Bellevue, Nebraska and John (Cybill) Loya; mother, Marilyn Pirwitz of Charter Oak; twin sisters: Karen (Eugene) Mohr of Vail and Kay (Carl) Domsch of Wakefield, Nebraska; two nephews: Ryan Mohr of Vail and Justin (Sara) Mohr of Grimes; great-nephew: Callahan Mohr; several aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

Visitation is 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at the Huebner Funeral Home in Denison.
