Devon T. Auen

June 11, 2005 — August 30, 2015

Devon Todd Auen was born on June 11, 2005, the loving son of Todd and Shelly (Leeper) Auen. He passed away on August 30, 2015 at the age of ten.
Devon was born in Denison, Iowa and was baptized into Christ September 24, 2005 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Denison, where he also attended Sunday School. He was in the 4th grade at the Broadway Elementary School. He was good at math and especially liked lunchtime and recess. Devon was “all boy”- he loved baseball and the Miami Dolphins football team. He enjoyed swimming and fishing, camping, and being with his friends. He always looked forward to family functions and spending time with his cousins. Devon loved being outside and learning new things from his big brother Jordan. He was excited for the harvest time and loved to be active and play with the animals on the farm. He also loved spending time with his big sister Hannah, watching some of their favorite videos online and playing baseball in the backyard. Devon loved to whistle and was also known to sing some “opera”, which his family always enjoyed. One of his favorite games to play was Minecraft. Devon was also a collector. His collection has over 500 golf balls and he knew which ones were special and which ones were to be shared. Devon had what his family describes as the “best, most infectious giggle.” He was full of joy that he shared with everyone who knew him.
Devon is preceded in death by his grandmother Nancy. Those left to cherish his memory are: his father Todd , his mother Shelly and her significant other Shane, all of Denison; his brother and sister; Jordan and Hannah; grandparents: Rollin and Norma; Jerry; great-grandmother: Phyllis; many aunts, uncles, cousins; relatives and friends.
