Diane Joy McAninch was born April 29, 1941, the daughter of James and Ruby Ann Wilken Howorth. She passed away at the Denison Health Care Center in Denison, Iowa, on Friday, September 7, 2012, at the age of seventy-one.
Diane was born in Denison, Iowa. She received her education in the Denison Community Schools, graduating with the class of 1959, where she was an honor student and participated in the band and choir. Diane worked at Wesco for 14 years. She enjoyed taking the clients to Cronks and was involved with setting up an entertainment venue for Wesco clients in the space beneath Topko.
Diane was a loving mother and grandmother who was an excellent cook. She had a variety of hobbies which included ceramics, bowling on a team, watching SCIFI and John Wayne movies, and listening to music by Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Kenny Rogers, and Roger Miller. She liked to go horseback riding with the Silver Spur Saddle Club and her favorite horses were, "Dutchess," "Blueboy," and "Trigger." Diane collected antiques and was especially fond of Havelind China. She cherished family heirlooms and enjoyed playing her Victrola.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Donovan Howorth and his wife, Evelyn, and one aunt, Sara Howorth. Survivors include two daughters: Joy Martinez and her special friend, Rick Fox of Dow City, Iowa; and Kimberly Jeschke and special friend, Bronchee Mims of Dallas, Texas; two sons: Virgil Lamaak of Carroll, Iowa; and Jim Jeschke and his wife, Kari of Bellingham, Massachusetts; seven grandchildren: Jeremy Fineran and his wife, Magen, Jessica Martinez, John Martinez, Stephanie Warden and her husband, Jon, Samantha Stangl, Jordan Lamaak, and Jay Jeschke; five great-grandchildren and one due in November; other relatives and friends.
