Donald Kline

Donald Richard Kline was born July 27, 1921, the son of Daniel and Bertha Brundidge Kline. He died Monday, August 30, 2010, at Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison, Iowa, at the age of eighty-nine.
Don was born on a farm near Dunlap, Iowa. He was baptized in the Christian faith at the United Methodist Church in Dunlap on November 6, 1932, and later confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison on December 22, 1946. He received his education at the Dunlap Community School. After completing his education he worked for various farmers. On June 30, 1946, he was united in marriage to Lila Mae Wessel at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison. The couple made their home near Charter Oak, Iowa, and were blessed with the birth of four children. He worked for Feeders Supply for 41years and Schleswig Ag. After his retirement he worked as a greeter at Walmart in Denison.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who enjoyed visiting with his family and friends. He enjoyed telling jokes, fishing, woodworking and dancing. In his leisure time he loved watching the Minnesota Vikings and going to stockcar races. He became a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Schleswig in 1963. Don entered Eventide Lutheran Home in December 2009.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters: Sadie Zimmerman and her husband, Tony; Helen Christensen and her husband, Solon; Lola Arp and her husband, Roy; five brothers: Herbert and his wife, Gilma; Orris; Carl; Ben; Harvey and his wife, Mildred; three sisters-in-law: Florence Preul and her husband, Henry; Dorothy Wessel; and Lois Petersen; five brothers-in-law: Lloyd Wessel, Delmer Wessel, Edward Sonnichsen, Oluf Olson and Vahn Schumacher. Survivors include his wife, Lila of Eventide; four sons: Carey Kline and his wife, Pat of Dade City, Florida; Terry Kline and his wife, Nancy of Schleswig; David Kline and his wife, Michelle of Correctionville; and Dennis Kline and his wife, Lori of Schleswig; twelve grandchildren: Terri Lynn Martin and her husband, Steve; Cozette Sorrick and her husband, Jerry; Lonna Dozier and her husband, Randy; Stacy Lindgren and her husband, Scott; Troy Kline; Trevor Kline; Nicole Kline and her fianc, Richard Grady; Chad Kline and his wife, Katie; Tanya Kline; Joshua Kline; Emily and Tyler Kline; twelve great-grandchildren: Mackenzie, Logan, Madison, Chase, Hunter; Trey; Tayten, Olivia, Alexandra, Dallas, Calvin and Brooklyn; two very special nieces: LoAnna Meier and her husband, Don; and Vicki Worley, all of Carroll; six sisters-in-law: Audrey Kline of Dunlap; Leva Schumacher of Battle Creek; Helen Olson of Deloit; Esther Sonnichsen of Denison; Lorraine Wessel of Ida Grove; and Gladys Wessel of Denison; many other relatives and friends.
