Donald Mccoid

November 6, 1939 — January 23, 2014

Donald Andrew McCoid was born November 6, 1939, the son of William and Lucille Pearl McCoid. He died on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at his home in Arion, Iowa, at the age of seventy-four.
Donald was born in Dow City, Iowa. He received his education at the Dow City Community Schools. He entered United States Army on January 9,1962 and received his honorable discharge on December7, 1963. In 1988 he moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. He worked at IBP as a lugger, AMPC from 1995-1997 and then at Uncle Emory’s Stage Couch ( he had his own team). He was a inventive charter. He felt rich even if his check book did not show it. He lived life as meager person with few wants and always figure out ways to get by.
Donald was also known as “Cowboy,”and was liked by everyone. He enjoyed going to the sale barn, picking through things and finding great deals. He enjoyed riding horses especially in his younger years.
He was preceded in death by his parent; one son Craig; four brothers, Emery; Gerald; Clinton; Eugene; one sister, Evelyn; one brother-in-law David. He is survived by three children: Melissa; Donald Jr.; Scott; several grandchildren; three sisters, Wilma and her husband, Don; Alice; Barbara; and one sister-in-law, Flora; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
