Donna Mae Gibson

Donna Mae Gibson was born October 22, 1934, the daughter of Aaron and Zola (Crane) Hamblen. She was born in Vail, Iowa and was raised on the family farm. She graduated from the Dow City School with the Class of 1952. Donna cherished her family more than anything, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Donna passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair, Nebraska, attaining the age of eighty-seven years. She was preceded in death by her parents Aaron and Zola Hamblen; son Michael Gibson; brothers Dick (Maxine) Hamblen, Jim (Cecelia) Hamblen, and Kenneth Hamblen, sisters Alice (Lloyd) Yankey, Helen (Darold) Schmidt, and Juanita Argotsinger.

She is survived by her son Mark Gibson and his wife Sandra of Omaha, Nebraska; grandchildren: Justin Gibson of Omaha, Nebraska and Jaimie and her husband Michael Scott of Austin, Texas; great-grandchildren: Audrey Gibson and Grant Gibson; Adelyn Scott and Cora Scott; brother-in-law Dale Argotsinger of Aurora, Colorado; sister-in-law LeMae Hamblen of Omaha, Nebraska; nieces and nephews who lovingly call her Aunt Bette; other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 29, 2022 at the Huebner Funeral Home in Denison with burial to follow in the Dow City Cemetery in Dow City. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
