Donna J. Weiss

Donna June Weiss was born March 8, 1925, in Woodbine, Iowa, the daughter of Alexander and Marie Adams. She passed away Thursday, November 14, 2019, at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison, Iowa, at the age of ninety-four.
Donna graduated from Woodbine High School and Normal College, becoming a rural school teacher and substitute. She was united in marriage to John Weiss in June of 1943. Donna was a town girl but became a farm wife to the fullest. She raised 1000 chickens, dressed them and sold them to customers, grew a big garden, canning and freezing the bounty, and helped with chores. John passed away in 1984. After which, Donna moved into the town of Dow City.
Serving in the Community of Christ Church and volunteering in the community were her passions. She devoted many summers helping at church camps and reunions. Among the numerous boards Donna served on included: State Barber Board, Boyer Valley School Board, T.A.P. Board, Wesco Board, Crawford County Republican Chairman, Republican Women's Chairman, Farm Bureau, American Legion Auxiliary and County and State Extension Council.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; and her sister, Norma. Survivors include: three daughters: Barbara and her husband, Donald, Cathy and her husband, Gene, and Marilyn and her husband, Ace; seven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
