Donna L. Stehr

Donna Lee Stehr was born December 21, 1933, the daughter of Clarence and Adah Ellis. She died Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at St. Lukes Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa at the age of eighty-one.
Donna was born in Jolley, Iowa and received her education in the Jolley Community High School, graduating with the class of 1952. She was united in marriage to Daryl Stehr, April 10, 1955. The couple made their home on a farm in Stockholm Township west of Boyer farming and raising registered Hereford bulls. They were blessed with the birth of three children. In April of 1990, they retired and moved to Boyer. In 2010, Donna moved into the Correctionville Nursing and Rehab, where she remained until her death.
When she was younger, she enjoyed horses and worked with her father to break them for riding and trading. In her leisure time, Donna occupied much of her time to church events, including working with the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and was a prodigious reader of mysteries, adventure, history and especially the Holy Bible. She also enjoyed listening to a wide variety of music.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Daryl in 1997, and one daughter, Diane; one grandson, Patrick; her brother Wayne who was killed in action in WWII; a brother Dean as an infant; one sister, Doris. Survivors include: one daughter, Deneil and her fianc, Troy; one son, David and his fianc, Dorothy; eight grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; one sister, Darlene; and many other relatives and friends.
