Donna M Kroll

Donna Mae Kroll was born May 9, 1928, the daughter of Peter and Edna Carstensen. She died Thursday, March 17, 2016 at the Reed House in Denison, Iowa, at the age of eighty-seven.
Donna was born on a farm near Deloit, Iowa. She was baptized June 1928 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Denison and later confirmed there in 1943. Near the age of three she went to live with an uncle and aunt, Alfred and Dorothy Asmus. She received her education in Paradise No 1 Country School and the Denison High School. January 6, 1946, Donna was united in marriage to Eddie Kroll at Zion Lutheran Parsonage by Rev. C.W. Schmidt. The couple were blessed with the birth of two children, which Donna considered a very special blessing in her life.
Donna worked at National Food for five and half years and at Farmland Foods for twenty–one years. She was a life-long member of Zion Lutheran Church. She loved her children very much and enjoyed the time she could spend with them. In her leisure time she enjoyed sewing, handiwork, the challenge of puzzles, was an avid reader, and humorous stories. She also enjoyed cooking and baking in her earlier years. Donna had many health problems and many surgery in later years, including two bouts of cancer.
She was preceded in death by her special aunt and uncle, Alfred and Dorothy; her husband, Eddie; son, Ron; brother, Don; her father Peter; her mother, Edna; seven half brothers, Donald, Darold, Dale, Jim, Tom, Willis, Robert and Larry; and three half sisters, Darlyne, Norma and Diane. Survivors include her daughter, Judith Ann and her husband, Larry; two grandsons, James and Jared and his wife, Heather; four great-grandchildren, Jaden, Ashlyn, Rylee and Regan; daughter-in-law, Lanette and husband, Gene and their son, Joshua; two sisters-in-law, Joleen and Carol; half-brothers and sisters, Kennth and his wife, Buelah; Julie and her husband, Dennis; Carol; Janis and her husband Glenn; and Marvel; other relatives and friends.
