Donna Mae Helen Weed, daughter of William L. and Lena O. (Plagge) Namanny, was born June 3, 1933 in Crawford County, Iowa. She received her formal education at rural Crawford County, Iowa schools. She worked at a variety store in Denison, Iowa, baby sat for siblings and later moved to Omaha, Nebraska.
On October 23, 1954, Donna married Donavon Gale Weed at Elk Pointe, South Dakota. They made their home in Sioux City, Iowa, where Donna worked as secretary in the Sioux City school system. She later became an entrepreneur, starting a business of word processing called DME Secretarial Services. In their retirement, Donna and Donavon enjoyed living in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, for 11 years before returning to Nebraska. Donna later moved to Norfolk, Nebraska, where she lived until recently moving to Albion, Nebraska.
Donna was a member of the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children: Cheryl (Rodney) Sherburne of Albion, Nebrasla; Gayle Mathieson Schantz of Hornick, Iowa; Rodney D. (Caren) Weed of Omaha, Nebraska; seven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Marcella (Melvin) Petersen of Schleswig, Iowa; one brother William (Audrey) Namanny of Carroll, Iowa; along with many nieces and nephews.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband Donavan Weed; three brothers: Leonard, Wilbert and Kenneth; two sisters: Shirley and LaDene; her parents, William and Lena Namanny; her in-laws, Charles and Lillian Weed.
