Elnora Petersen

Elnora Fredericha Amelia Petersen, daughter of Martin and Gretha Petersen Knudsen, was born June 7, 1918, in Grant Township, Ida County Iowa. She was baptized in Christ on June 30, 1918, at the Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Ida Grove. Elnora was confirmed there on March 20, 1932.
After completing her education at the rural school, she assisted in the family home until her marriage to Lorenz Petersen on February 17, 1946, at the Trinity Lutheran Church. They lived on a farm one and a half miles north west of Schleswig for 18 years, then moved to her present home in Schleswig. This union was blessed with one daughter, Lorna Mae.
Elnora enjoyed her home, liked to sew and crochet, and belonged to several card clubs. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Schleswig. Most of all, she loved visiting with family and friends.
Elnora was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lorenz in 1990; her daughter, Lorna Mae in 2003; one brother, Marvin Knudsen in 1967. She is survived by one son-in-law, James; two grandsons: Travis and fianc, Lynette and Troy and his wife, Darotta; four great-grandchildren: Austin, Melissa, Casey and Cailyn; nieces and nephews.
