Emily Marie Tehan was born July 9, 2010, at Midlands Hospital in Papillion, Nebraska, the daughter of Brian Tehan and Jamie Rusch. She passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2013, at Lakeside Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, at the tender age of three.
Emily was a loving, caring, polite little girl. She loved to role
play with her toys and her favorite pretend activity was to play she was a kitten, frequently filling the house with cat noises. Emily liked to watch shows like Team Umizoomi and Bubble Guppies, and would sing along with the ABC song and Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star. She was delighted when her parents would sing her lullabies, read to her, and give her hugs and kisses. Emily and her sister, Abby, were best friends, even though they fought like typical siblings, they still had lots of fun playing together. Hide and Seek was one of the fun games the family played together and Emily believed as long as her eyes were closed no one else could see her. Other activities Emily enjoyed were coloring, dancing and watching videos on the tablet about kittens and toys and Sesame Street songs, especially Mahna Mahna.
Emily was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Connie Rusch; paternal grandfather, Dennis Tehan; and maternal great-grandfather, Edwin Rusch; paternal great-grandparents, Jo Lorraine and Donald Duane Jones. Left to cherish her memory are her parents, Brian Tehan and Jamie Rusch; one sister, Abby; all of Omaha, Nebraska; maternal grandparents: Roger and Renea Rusch of Breda, Iowa; paternal grandmother Donna King of Plattsmouth, Nebraska; and maternal great-grandmother, Gladys Rusch of Schleswig, Iowa; other relatives and friends.
