In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Crawford County Home Health, Hospice, & Public Health.

Emmogene Gosch Evers was born on December 29, 1929 in Schleswig, IA. She was the daughter of Johannes Gosch and Anna Gosch. Emmogene lived in Schleswig her entire life and graduated from Schleswig High School in 1947.
On October 22, 1950, Emmogene married the love of her life, Charles Evers of Galva, IA, in the Friedens UCC in Schleswig. When Emmogene passed, they had been married 67 years, but knew each other for over 80 years. They met when they were young children. Charlie's family would visit Emma Behrmann, the Goschs' neighbor. Charles worked his entire life at the Gosch Farm Store/Hardware Store. In 1958, they adopted a red-haired baby, Sandy, whom Emmogene loved with her whole heart.
Emmogene's priority was always her family and dear friends. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother (known by her grandchildren as Nanny), and great-grandmother. At church, she was the Sunday School coordinator, was active in Junior Guild and Cradle Roll, as well as many other activities. Emmogene was involved in the hospital auxiliary for many years. Emmogene loved to cook and bake and Sandy's friends still talk about her cookies. Emmogene was also a skilled seamstress, loved crafts, and painted the countless birdhouses that Charlie made.
Emmogene and Charlie also loved to travel. They flew to Scotland many times to visit Sandy, they also drove across country to Rhode Island at least twice a year to see their grandchildren.
Emmogene is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her dear husband, Charles Evers; daughter, Sandy (Bob) Nolan; grandchildren Laura (Tom) Dillon, Claire (Jeff) Costello, and Andrew (Lauren) Sharpe; and her great-grandchildren, Lily, Tommy, and Emma Dillon and Ava and Olivia Costello. She will be missed beyond words by her family and friends.
