Ernest Emil Segebart Jr. was born June 24, 1941, at Denison, Iowa, the son of Ernest and Mildred Segebart. He passed away Sunday, February 18, 2018, at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of seventy-six.
Ernest received his education in the local schools and and served his country in the United States Army from 1963-1965. He then began employment at Denison Hide and Iowa Beef Processors in Denison. He was united in marriage to LaVeda Hoffman June 11, 1970, at Denison.
Fishing, hunting and being outdoors were his favorite leisure-time activities. He also enjoyed playing cards, country music, and western movies, with Johnny Cash and Elvis being among his favorites. He loved football, especially the Green Bay Packers and particularly enjoyed time spent with family and friends and he had a special fondness for his grandchildren.
Ernest was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, LaVeda; one sister, Carol; two brothers, Larry and Jim; four brothers-in-law, Burdell, Willard, Raymond, and Larry; and one sister-in-law, Joan. Survivors include: two sons, Rodney and his wife, Shelley, and Ernest and fianc, Sarah; two daughters, Janna and her husband, Todd, and Melinda and her husband, Chad; twelve grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four sisters, Dorothy, Ruby, June, and Evelyn; two brothers, Charles, and Bill and friend, Janeen; one brother-in-law, Steven; one sister-in-law, Kathleen; other relatives and friends.
