Ervin Perry Gray was born June 29, 1926, the son of Thomas and Laura Moore Gray. He died on Sunday, September 19, 2010 at home at the age of eighty-four.
Ervin was born on a farm near Moorhead, Iowa and attended school in Moorhead through the sixth grade. On December 27, 1947 he was united in marriage to Opal Neville in Valparaiso, Indiana and was blessed with the birth of four children.
From a very young age Ervin fell in love with farming. In 1950 he began farming as a farmhand for Park Moorhead. Later farming with his brother, Lloyd, and eventually settling on the family farm. He loved working the land and a long hard day of work was his idea of a great day. He never really retired and continued to pick corn and rake hay as long as he could.
He enjoyed tending to his hogs, cows and calves and in his free time he enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and "Mans Best Friend" his four-wheeler. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a very important part of his life. He enjoyed spending time with all little children and sharing with them his passion for farming.

Survivors include his wife, Opal of Dunlap; four children: Linda Davis and her husband, Larry of Dunlap; Glenda Mae Malone and her husband, Earl of Dunlap; E.
