Florence Olga Jepsen

Florence Olga Jepsen was born on August 23, 1930 to Edward and Anita (Krohnke) Hecht in Lyon County, Iowa. The family moved to a farm west of Schleswig in 1931. Florence received her education in Hanover Township and graduated from Schleswig High School in Schleswig.

She was united in marriage to Arnold Jepsen on February 11, 1951 at the Friedens Evangelical Reformed Church in Schleswig and two daughters, Carole and Lori, were born to this union. They farmed near Schleswig and Galva. Florence also stayed busy as a housewife, mother, and a cook for the Schleswig Community School.

Florence was a member of the United Church of Christ in Schleswig. She enjoyed playing cards and word searches. Above all, she cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Florence passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at her daughter's home in Coloma, Wisconsin attaining the age of ninety-one years, four months and twelve days. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arnold Jepsen in January 2001; daughter, Lori Outhier in May 2016; son-in-law, Christian Johnson in 2016; sister, Lois Kruse in 2017; and brother-in-law, Charles Kruse in 2012.
Left to cherish her memory, is her daughter, Carole Johnson of Coloma, Wisconsin; son-in-law, Philip Outhier of Shenandoah, Iowa; four grandchildren: Christian Jr. (Laura) Johnson of Coloma, Wisconsin, Matthew (Patricia) of Green Bay, Wisconsin; Shelby Outhier of Shenandoah; John Outhier of Shenandoah, Iowa; five great-grandchildren: Malakai, Skilar, Aiden, Zander and Chris; other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the United Church of Christ in Schleswig on Saturday, April 23, 2022 with a visitation on hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. also at the church. Inurnment will be in the Morgan Cemetery in Schleswig. Memorials may be directed to the family.
