Gailyn D. Maack

Gailyn Dean Maack, age 70, of Palatka, Florida died unexpectedly on June 4th, 2018 at Ocala Regional Medical Center. Gailyn was born February 11, 1948 in Denison, Iowa. He was the son of Herman and Margaret Maack. Gailyn grew up on a farm in the Denison area. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Charter Oak. He attended school at Charter Oak and later high school at Schleswig, graduating with the class of 1966. Following graduation, Gailyn attended cosmetology school and became a licensed cosmetologist. He owned a salon in Minnesota and subsequently relocated to Miami, Florida where he owned and operated a salon in Coconut Grove, Florida. Gailyn joined the Panache Salon and Spa in St. Augustine Florida as a Top Stylist in 2003. Gailyn enjoyed gardening and traveling. One of his favorite travel locations was San Francisco, which he considered his spiritual home.
He was preceded in death by his parents Herman and Margaret; two brothers Allyn and Loren and great nephew, Lance. Gailyn is survived by two brothers, Ronald and wife JoAnn, and Larry and wife Leila. He is survived by nieces and nephews, Rhonda, Deb, Kristi, Kelly, K'Lynn, Billie, Russell and Royce and their families, other relatives and friends.
