Gale William Segebart was born June 14, 1945, in Denison, Iowa, the son of Earl and Viola Segebart. He passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2019, at the Manilla Manor in Manilla, Iowa, at the age of seventy-four.
Gale received his education in the Ar-We-Va school system and graduated from Ar-We-Va High School with the class of 1963. Gale was united in marriage to Peggy Vauble November 26, 1966, at Zion Lutheran Church in Arcadia, Iowa. His employment career began as a laborer in a concrete plant in Lake View, Iowa, after which he was employed at Farmland in Denison for most of his life. He also worked at the Kandy Kitchen in Manilla. Gale had been a resident of Denison, Odebolt and finally Manilla.
Playing cards and social games were Gale’s favorite pastimes. In his younger days, he enjoyed fishing at Okoboji and in local ponds. The Miami Dolphins were his favorite football team and the Kansas City Royals were his favorite baseball team. Television programs he liked to watch were Family Feud, Lawrence Welk Show, Hee Haw, and Andy Griffith. Although sometimes being quirky and funny, Gale loved his family and had a special fondness for his grandchildren.
Gale was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include: three sons, Kevin and his wife, Kathy, Brian and his wife, Christy and Brett and his wife, Sophia; eight grandchildren; four sisters, Marjean, Karen, Marsha and Debbie; one brother, Alan and his wife, Sherrie; other relatives and friends.
